The short version. GlassDock does not collect, store, sell, share or transmit any personal data to the developer or to anyone else. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you set up in the app lives only on your Mac. In the App Store privacy label, GlassDock is listed as “Data Not Collected.”

1. What we collect
Nothing. GlassDock has no account system and contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs. The app never sends personal data, usage data or device identifiers to the developer or to any third party. We do not know who uses GlassDock or how.
Purchases and downloads are handled entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store under Apple’s privacy policy; the developer receives only Apple’s aggregate, anonymised App Store statistics.
2. Data that stays on your Mac
To do its job, GlassDock keeps a small amount of information in the app’s local settings (macOS user defaults) on your Mac. This data is never uploaded, backed up by us or shared with anyone:
- Your dock layout — the apps, folders, files, links and spacers you pin, and your dock profiles (for example “Work” and “Personal”).
- Widget settings — for example your focus duration, the city you chose for weather, the stock symbol you follow, your sticky-note text, water count, alarms and countdown targets.
- Appearance and behaviour preferences — edge, size, material, transparency, shortcuts and similar options.
The following information is read but not stored:
- Calendar events and reminders are accessed through Apple’s EventKit framework only to show your upcoming events and reminders in the dock and to let you complete a reminder. They are displayed in memory and are not copied, cached to disk or transmitted.
- Your location (approximate, city-level accuracy) is used only if you choose “Current location” in the Weather widget, and only to fetch the forecast for that area. See section 4.
- Now-playing information (track title, artist, artwork) is read from Apple Music or Spotify on your Mac only to display it in the Music widget.
- System information (battery level, CPU, memory and network activity) is read from macOS only to display it in the System widgets.
3. Permissions and how to revoke them
GlassDock asks for a macOS permission only when you enable a feature that needs it, and explains why at that moment. Every permission is optional; the rest of the app keeps working if you decline.

You can withdraw any permission at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security (Calendars, Reminders, Location Services, Automation) or System Settings › Notifications. GlassDock respects the change immediately; the related widget simply shows that it needs access.
4. Third-party services
GlassDock connects to the internet only for the three optional widgets below, only after you enable them, and only with the minimum information required to answer your request. No account details, identifiers, usage data or other personal information is ever attached to these requests. These providers are independent services with their own privacy policies; GlassDock does not share any data with them beyond what is listed here, and they do not receive anything that identifies you as a GlassDock user.

As with any internet request, these providers technically receive your IP address in order to respond. GlassDock has no access to their logs and does not receive anything back other than the forecast, quote or image you asked for. All three widgets are off by default; if you never enable them, GlassDock makes no network requests at all.
5. Retention and deletion
Because GlassDock never sends data to us, we hold no data about you that could be retained or deleted. There is nothing to request, export or erase on our side.
The local settings described in section 2 remain on your Mac for as long as you use the app. You can remove them yourself at any time:
- Reset in the app — Settings › Advanced › “Reset to factory settings” returns all preferences and widget settings to their defaults (pinned apps are kept; remove them from the dock’s right-click menu).
- Delete the app — removing GlassDock from your Applications folder removes its sandboxed container and settings from your Mac.
- Revoke permissions — see section 3; GlassDock stops reading that data immediately.
6. Tracking and advertising
GlassDock does not track you across apps or websites, does not use or share advertising identifiers, does not build profiles and does not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined by privacy laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA or Türkiye’s KVKK. App Tracking Transparency is not required because no tracking takes place.
7. Children
GlassDock is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect information from children either. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through the contact address below, email us and we will delete it.
8. This website
glassdock.site is a static website. It sets no cookies and includes no analytics, advertising or social-media scripts. The site remembers your light/dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage; that value never leaves your browser and you can clear it through your browser settings.
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes the technical information needed to deliver a page (such as your IP address and browser type) and may keep short-lived server logs for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.
If you email support@glassdock.site, we receive the address and message you send. We use them only to reply to you and do not add them to any mailing list.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since GlassDock processes your data only on your own device and we hold none of it, you can exercise these rights directly through the app and macOS as described in sections 3 and 5. If you have any question or request, write to us at the address below and we will answer within 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
If GlassDock ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example a new widget that needs a network connection — this policy will be updated before that version ships, the effective date at the top will change, and the App Store privacy label will be updated to match. The current version is always available at glassdock.site/privacy.
